Welcome to our school

Welcome to the website of the Preparatory Department of the Bloomfield Collegiate School for Girls. Bloomfield Collegiate School was founded in 1905. Since then it has grown and flourished, with the Preparatory Department an important and much valued part of the school. Situated on the main arterial route through East Belfast, the Upper Newtownards Road, the school offers a convenient location for parents commuting to and from work (see location map).

Excellence in a Caring Community

The School aims to create a supportive and caring environment where each girl is known and educated as an individual. Classes are kept small, especially within P1-P3, where classes often contain less than ten students. Every pupil receives a high level of one-to-one education with their teachers. This gives Bloomfield girls the best possible start to their education. But do not take our word for it, a selection of comments from parents can be found below:

Message from the Head Teacher

It is my personal belief that a happy child will achieve her potential and that is what Bloomfield Prep is all about: happy girls achieving success in the widest possible sense.

I hope this website will give you some idea of what makes the school so special: the courteous and welcoming girls, the caring staff, supportive parents and its superb facilities. I should like to invite you to visit one of our Open Days so that you may talk to the staff and pupils and experience at first-hand the special opportunities we have to offer your daughter. If the Open Events are not convenient for you, we will be pleased to arrange an alternative visit. We can be contacted on 028 9047 1214.
